The Snowy Day

Photobucket

Last night, I had a dream that it snowed, and then in my dream the sun came out and melted all the snow. When I woke up, snow was still everywhere. New snow was falling!

This was a true snow day for us. School for James was canceled. Mark didn't have to go to work. (He still had to work, but he didn't have to GO to work - ahhh, the internet age!) We started off our snowy day with snow pumpkin waffles:

We also had a fire:

The kids lasted until 9am when we finally ventured out. James was so excited!

Andy was excited when he was inside. In the snow, not so much:

He didn't last long. We stuck him in front of Bob the Builder and went back outside:

James had a list. Snowman, snowball fight, snow angels, sleding, ice skating... This was very powdery snow, so the only one we had luck with was snow angels. We tried sledding, but it didn't go well. We may need to get a sled one of these snow days:

Ms. Juliet and Christopher had the right idea though:

Afterwards, there was hot chocolate!

We got somewhere around 6". Ms. Becky, who is from "the north", said that she was impressed by it! The amount of snow is really unbelievable and amazing...but I hope it melts soon. Today went ok, but I am not looking forward to spending the next week stuck at home!

It's day 2 of no school and everyone being at home. I'm ready for it all to melt!
