Edible Play Dough

playdough1

On my favorite new show, Jon and Kate Plus 8, Kate talks about making this playdough for her kids to play with. I thought it would be perfect for James because he loves playdough, he loves eating, and he loves eating playdough. The recipe is equal parts peanut butter, honey, and powdered milk. (I did 1 cup of each) Truth be told, I ended up adding a bunch of flour to get it to be less sticky. I set it out for a playdate with James's BFF, John, and some kitchen utensils. John worked with it very intently.

James found out pretty quickly it was edible.

As Miss Juliet said, "they were occupied with it for 5 minutes and there were no tears when they were done with it...success!" I put the remainder in the fridge. I think that will make it even better to work with.

3 under 3, part II

airport

James and I flew to help out my sister after some knee surgery. I was in charge of Mr. C (2 1/2), James (18 months), and AM (1 year this weekend!). Really, the worst one was my sister (29+), she is a horrible patient!

James and I got to go to Kids in Action, which was a combo Kindermusik/Gymboree.

Stumphouse tunnel

The weather was good this past Sunday, so we headed up to Stumphouse Tunnel and Isaqueena Falls.

Both the tunnel and the falls were nice and all, but did you see all those rocks on the road....WAY COOL!!

rocks

Ok, the tunnel was fun too. James wasn't scared at all.

After we saw the falls, James and John were playing chase. They aren't quite sure what to do when they catch each other, but they have fun in the process.

Bad Hair!

No, it isn't bad, I just don't know what to do with it.

hair2

So, James has his dad's hair (ie, when he wakes up in the morning, it always sticks up). Mark just takes a shower, James, well, he takes his baths at night. Another problem is that we have this problem twice a day because it occurs after nap time as well.

hair3

It is a little coarser that normal toddler hair and yes, he does need a hair cut, but that is the problem...how should I cut it? We tried clippers, and I took him to great cuts and they used clippers, but still, the crazy hair. Help please, any ideas? Here is a close up view:
