On Wednesday, I bought an 18 can pack of Miller Lite in preparation of the first weekend of college football. When I opened the fridge last night to get one of these beers and watch the first, although somewhat crappy, game of the season, there was no beer in my fridge.
I left the beer in the cart at the store. Something about having a baby, a balloon, and all the other groceries made me forget my beer!!
MAJOR party foul. Ugh.

Who turned out the lights?
Sunday afternoons we try to do a fun thing as a family. We go swimming, or go for a walk in the gardens, but we just try to get away from the chores of the weekend. This Sunday, we went to Walmart. Yes, it isn't that fun, but it was too hot to walk and too cloudy for the pool. The whole time we were gone, it rained. There was thunder and lighting, but mainly lots of rain. We turn back into our neighborhood and wow, it looked like a war zone: branches were down, leaves and pine needles were all over the road. "It looks like hail," I said to Mark. "Woo-hoo, new roof!" Mark brought up my car, which was parked out side "woo-hoo, we can finally get your car fixed!" Well, it wasn't hail, apparently there were just some strong winds. Trees were down all over, included one that crack in half onto our neighbors car. Some trees fell over, pulling their roots up, including the one on the power lines.
You would think a night of no power would be fun every once in awhile, all those candles, but the fact of the matter, it is really dark, and you can't really do anything. Well, besides that. I was really bummed because I had a bunch of stuff on my dvr to watch, and it turns out, you can't really read by candlelight. Of course, I decided to wash our only pair of sheets that Sunday and put them in the dryer just before we went to walmart.
The power came back on at 1:53am, almost 12 hours after it went out.

Granny and Opa!
Guess who came to visit? More grandparents for James! Granny helped James practice walking and walking and walking, and they took a detour to play with the refrigerator magnets.
"Weeeeee! Higher Opa! Higher!"
Granny and Opa also brought a little rocking chair for James. They thought it would be cute to have him sit in with his cowboy hat and Texas Ranger badge. Yes, it would have, but that is apparently impossible.

Tagged
I usually don't do these things. Allison, you should feel special that I am participating, and yes I feel special that I was tagged.
The Rules: 1. I have to post these rules before I give you the facts. 2. Each player starts with eight random facts/habits about themselves. 3. People who are tagged need to write their own blog (about their eight things) and post these rules. (**if you’re a non-blogger, you can email them!) 4. At the end of your blog, you need to choose eight people to get tagged and list their names. 5. Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them they’re tagged, and to read your blog.
1. I don't like chocolate chip cookies. Sure, I'll eat them, but not very often. I don't make them.
2. My favorite shows on tv are: The Closer, the Daily Show, and South Park.
3. Today I called my mom to tell her that I loved her. If you are reading this, I encourage you to do the same if possible.
4. In 1992, I was in high school in California. Our band was suppose to be leaving to go to Disneyland, but at the last second the trip was canceled due to the Rodney King riots. The next year, we drove all the way down there, but the re-trial verdict came out, so we came straight home. We had tickets to Phantom and everything!
5. My favorite expensive wines are Jordan Cabernet (red) and Cakebread Sauvingnon Blanc (white). My favorite cheap wines are Little Penguin Cabernet (red, cause I'm drinking it right now) and Santola Vinho Verde (white).
6. I LOVE COFFEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
7. I have the best sister ever.
8. I hate forwarded mails and chain letters. If someone sends to many of them to me, I "this is spam" them. No offense. Because of that, I am not going to tag anyone, but encourage those who want to participate in their blogs or in my comments section.

A family affair
James's cousins came to visit last week! Oh, he had such a great time playing with them. He really liked Mr. C who did a great job teaching James how to walk.
Everyone went to kindermusik and now we are thinking about starting a band.
Even Annemarie got in on the action.
We celebrated Mr. C's bday...with store bought cupcakes :(
And finally, me and Annemarie.
There will probably be more pictures on the blog Who Loves Math (and who doesn't?).

Giving it a TRI
So, I signed up for the Pickens YMCA sprint triathalon. It is a 300 yard swim, 12.4 mile bike ride, and 3.1 mile run. I am very excited to be able to participate, but the only problem is that I don't own a bike. I borrowed a mountain bike from a neighbor, but I don't think it is going to work. It is just too much work to ride a mountain bike for that long. Seriously, I went on a training ride with some other people, and I came in dead last. I hate being last. So, does anyone out there in the area have a road bike that I could borrow? I just don't want to drop $700 right now for a bike that I may not use ever again.
Thanks!
Thanks!

The Greemville News
I know what you are all thinking - HA, that Kerri has another typo! However, this same typo was in the Greenville paper. That paper is always filled with errors, and if I catch them, you know its bad. To make matters worse, it is just not an interesting paper to me. The articles in is are just lame, even the ones they pull off the AP wire. So, I canceled it, and we are going to try the Anderson paper. At least we will get the normal addition, instead of the early one. If that doesn't work, onto the Oconee County paper, which is actually pretty good (I LOVE Willie), but it doesn't come on Sundays.
I am such a paper snob. Will anything ever be able to compare to the Dallas Morning News??
