Red Neck Baby(ies) 2011

Can you see James's crack?

For memorial day, we planned to go to my parents house. This was a all day affair this time, but it was fun. We got there and the first thing the boys wanted to do was go fishing. We had been to the fishing pier at the waterfront park and someone was just pulling fish in left and right. The boys were convinced that they could do the same. Unfortuately, that was not the case.

We did have fun digging up worms for bait, so it wasn't a total loss. After lunch and quiettime, we hit the lake. It was a little cold for me, but the kids said they were fine though there chattering teeth.

Then of course, a boat ride! Look at this guy. Remember when he hated boat rides. At least he still loves snacks:

The boys took turns driving:

And then the grand finale, BBQ ribs for dinner:

The kids loved the ribs!

Greenville Drive

A group from our church went to a Greenville Drive game this past weekend. Those of you who know me know that I am not a fan of baseball. This is because in theory, it could last forever. That makes me nervous. I have stuff to do. At any rate, it sounded like a fun thing to try with the kids so we went. First we needed proper attire. We had walked from church to Moe's that morning and both kids complained about the brightness. So, I found hats and sunglasses.

James actually wore his at the game: Photobucket

One of the good things about this particular stadium is that it is very family friendly. There is a playground INSIDE the park. How cool is that?

They had facepainting for donations.

Here are the painted faces at our seats (in the shade!): Photobucket

Andy's is an elephant. James's is a teenage mutant ninja turtle. The game from our seats...we had some great seats!

The game only lasted for three hours. Perhaps even more shocking than that is that we actually made it until the end of the game. But the best part of the game was when it started, they played "ya'll ready for this" and Andy, yes, Andy, just busted out dancing. So cute!

In Shape With Sharon Mann...and James and Andy!

Perhaps you remember this post last year about how James would come join me for some aerobics. While Andy would nap and James would have quiet time, I would play a previously DVR'ed episode of In Shape With Sharon Mann for a workout. This went pretty well, but had started doing other workouts other than aerobics (ie running, lots of running). Well, decided to try something other than running for awhile and fired up the ole DVR again. Only this time, Andy is also not really napping so they both come down just intime to finish up my workout. Here they come down the stairs!

Photobucket

Perhaps you have noticed they aren't wearing shirts. Well, that is because I don't wear a shirt when I workout either. Much cooler! Getting ready:

Starting their first 32 count:

Andy was taking a break at this point. Yeah, Andy, they make me sore too!

Photobucket

James's favorite part is the cool down cause "it is easier for me!"

Andy decided to jump back in for this part:

I have joined "the gym" so there may not be much more of this!

Some Fountain Time

We went to the lowcountry for Easter Weekend. We knew it was going to be crowded, we knew we would be short on time, but this time, we (I) decided to take the kids To Charleston. We have been to some places in Charleston, but hadn't gone yet to the main downtown area. Our plan was simple. Start with a nice lunch of peel 'n eat 'em shrimp (kids had hot dogs) then walk to the fountain by the waterfront park. For our trip I did not pack any swim suits, but I had brought along a change of clothes. The boys were really excited when they saw the fountain. They gleefully stripped off their shirts and shoes, but then they hesitated.

I know. Can't really tell where the shorts end and the white body begins. They gradually got wet.

But once they were in, they were in, especially James. Got right there in the center and started screaming baby talk. Very wierd.

Andy stayed to the outside, but still got plenty wet.

The kids had a great time, but we definately paid for the off schedule lunch, no nap, high energy activity.
