Swim Lessons 2010

You may remember this post about James in swim lessons last year. It did not go well. This year the rec center did their swim lessons a little differently, so I signed James up to repeat last years class, but only 1 day a week.

This year was completely different. James LOVED it. Maybe you just have to be three. As always, James was the star. Yesterday was his last class and we were allowed to watch and take pictures. The before picture:

James about to jump in. This was where the real progress occurred. Last year they had to trick him into jumping in unassisted. This year, James started in his superman stance and then threw himself off the side. This is good and bad.

I'm not going to lie...James was a little annoying. He talked the whole class.

Can't wait for the next session.

Oh! Woe is me!

Last week was James's last day of preschool. To celebrate (?) there was an end of the year program.

It was horrible.

Its not that the songs weren't good or that I don't love giving my kids tons of sugary snacks before 10am, but it was because of this guy:

That's right, OH ANDY. Wrecker of Order, Destroyer of the Peace. Andy, the almost two year old. They really should not allow small children in these programs.

Here he is eating an orange slice to keep him occupied (the candy, not a real orange)

Good thing Grandma and GiGi came. James had some audience.

Oh, and here is Andy eating chex mix off the floor. Nice.

I did get a glimpse of the "grand finale" I took this picture of James from across the room:

Oh well, maybe it will go better next year.

Over and Out

Photobucket

Oh, Andy.

Not even two yet.

Has to do everything that his brother does.

He has started climbing over his crib.

We actually got him a big boy bed a few months ago, but have not set it up because we knew once we did, that would be the end of the crib.

And if it was up to me, they should stay in their crib until they are 5.

A few months ago we heard the "THUNK" and knew he was out. It has taken until this last week where he just comes out.

He comes out after his nap (if I can get him to stay in a take one), stands at the top of the stairs and says "oooooo, aaaaaammmmmeeeeesssss????"" (oh, James)

Or gets up at 6:15am and goes and wakes up his brother and then both of them run around downstairs screaming "MMOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMMYYYYYYY!?!?!?!?!?!?" (why do they start getting up early when they do things like this)

And now that the house is on the market, we don't want to set up his bed because we don't know where we will be in a few months.

Over and Out.

Mixed Feelings

Photobucket

I have really been MIA from the blogging world these past couple of weeks. Why? The reasons are three-fold.

1. It was the end of my semesters at the two colleges I teach at and I had lots of grading, calculating, submitting, and organizing to do. Now it is over. I am not teaching summer schoool. I am very excited to be spending all this extra time with my children. sigh.

2. I got really sick. With what I am not so sure, but it started two weeks ago and although I am definately better and am on antibiotics, I am still not 100%. It has really knocked me down. On the good side with all this is that I lost about 5 pounds, so there you go.

3. We decided to put the house on the market. Just to see what happens. So in between the times that I was not grading/calculating/coughing/blowing my nose I was cleaning/decluttering/making phone calls.

There just has not been enough time for blogging, but hopefully now that school is over, I am a bit better, and the house is on the market I will update more.
