Ahhhh, capitalism!
Does anyone remember having these pumpkin patches around when we were growing up? It is like someone just decided they weren't profiting enough from fall holidays and came up with the pumpkin patch to fill that void between summer travels and Christmas.
I mean, don't get me wrong, as soon as I found one nearby, I knew we would take James. He had a great time, but the $16 it took to get me and Mark it does seem a little steep. I am not sure it will be worth it when we have to pay an additional $8 for James next year.
We went to the "Corn Maze and Pumpkin Patch" at the Denver Downs Farm. Denver Downs has a SC certified produce stand and I have been trying to buy most of my produce from here. I guess that is why part of me doesn't mind the admissions fee because it goes directly to a local farm.
Notice the similarities between the pumpkin and the shape of James's head. Sometimes I call James "my little punkin head".
Look Mommy! Goats!
James and Mommy on the cow train. Note the serious expression that James has. That is when you know he is having the time of his life.

The biggest hit was the corn box. It is like a sandbox, but with corn.
James liked it so much that it took him a good 20 minutes before he started shoving corn in his mouth. Well, it was just a matter of time.

I can't wait till John and I go this weekend! I have a feeling that $16 admission is going to seem cheap compared to music lessons, baseball team fees and equipment, swimming lessons, etc. But I feel your pain!
Great...now I desperately want some corn!!! ; )
You got off cheap! The one here is $10 per person--even for Gabriel, plus the pony ride, popcorn, french fries, funnel cake...
