Andy's first hike

Photobucket

The weather was actually nice this past Saturday, so we decided to take the kids to Mountain View Park for a little hike. It is a nice little park, with a one mile trail that runs right by the once and future (we hope) Lake Hartwell.

The plan was to carry Andy in the Ergo, and have James hike. Yeah....James also wanted to be carried.

I got him to use in own power, by running about 20 yards again, then turning around and letting him run to me. It was good excercise, but I am not sure how that converts to spark points.

However, Andy LOVED it. Didn't have a peep out of him, once he figured out how to look around. Can't wait for the next batch of nice weather.

My new washer!

Photobucket

I guess I should say our new washer. It is just like our old one, except it is quieter, a little bigger, has a push button start, and doesn't leak. Yay!

Nine months on, nine months off

So....I haven't been posting much. I am going to go ahead and blame that on my new diet. I started Sparkpeople. That's right, I'm a spark person. It basically keeps track of all the calories you eat. The only problem that I have been spending so much time entering what I have been eating, by the time I am done, I don't want to be on the computer any more.

Plus, I am oh so hungry.

I don't have a lot to lose, I just want to get to my pre-pregnancy weight. Unfortuately, the scale that I have doesn't work so well, so I am not really sure how much I have to go...maybe 5-10 pounds? I guess I will know when I can fit into my pants again.

I think I am doing well. I have about a month and a half before Andy is nine months old, and that is when I want to be done. Until then, LOTS of popcorn!

Look Ma, no hands!

Andy started sitting up, and we are both thrilled about it:

It is just so nice when they can sit up. Hey, I have to do this, sit here for one second...

Our tree. I think it was our best ever. At least it was until James started messing with it.

Pray.

We had a very nice Christmas, but didn't take very many pictures. Moving on...

One day we were sitting down to dinner and James was being extra difficult. In order to help him focus on eating his food, I grabbed his hand and said, "let's say a prayer." On the spot, I blurted out the first thing that came to mind: "thank you God for this food. AMEN." That has been the prayer we have said ever since followed by a rousing "LET'S EAT!" by James and his dad. Of course James wants to say it every time we sit down for anything, dinner, breakfast, snacks. So, I am looking for some new ones. I know a lot of the little kids learn some good ones at their schools or churches, so I am asking for you to share your favorites. Thanks!

And yes, after the Lord's prayer at the Christmas Eve service James exclaimed "Let's Eat!" after the AMEN.

Only Andy

Oohhh, so much I should be doing right now, but I try to post something new once a week. Things have been hard because Andy was sick, then James, now Andy again, and I totally think James is going to get sick again! Anyways, here is a collection of pictures from the past couple of months of only Andy.

The first time he was in his excersaucer. The NP said that he might be crying most of the day because he was "really smart" and we should put him in this. Yeahhh, whatever.

Working on sitting up:

Starting solid foods. It is hit or miss at this point.

Sort of standing up...and hanging on for dear life!

At his 6 month appointment he was a little over 19 pounds and was 28 inches long. Didn't get any shots because he apparently had an ear infection. I was going to do that this week, but alas, another ear infection. Apparently, he is one of THOSE kids.
